Please take a minute to remember....

As you all know, today is a very sad day. It is an especially sad one for where I live and used to teach~~ less than an hour to New York City by train, about 40 minutes to Newark airport. Todd Beamer's family live down the street from my friend, everyone knows someone in New York that day.....my own brother was in a building down the street from the towers and had to walk home over the bridge.....I was 8 months pregant, just dropped my 3rd grade class off at gym on the third day of school.....had to pretend the rest of the day nothing was wrong, as many of their parents worked in the city....you get the idea.

Please take a minute to remember those lost and their families.....the link below will take you to a very sad video.....it is graphic, and you will cry. Watch it or not.....but please remember.

Thanks.

Liliputians-NYC

Sigh....kindergarten. I didn't realize what a change this grade would make in my daughter's wardrobe~~ gym class and the playground DO NOT lend themselves to the cute skirt sets and dresses my tom-girlie girl likes to wear. (You know what I am talking about..those little girls that like to dress up but also like to tumble around on the playground) And shoes? FORGET about it! She's not even ALLOWED to wear her many pairs of cool clogs....sigh....what's a mom to do?

I'll tell you what~~~ click right on over to Liliputians-NYC. I've been buying my daughter's birthday and holiday outfits there for years, but have you seen the other funky and cool pieces they have. (I should say she~~ owned and operated by Heather Flottman) I *was* going to finally break down and buy the JAPANAMATION ANIME GIRL Outfit, and now I am loving the FOLKLORICO FRIDA KAHLO Appliqued Jeans & Shirt Set for Girls. Which should I buy!!! Come on readers....and I mean all four of you, help a girl out!

One more thing.....

I totally forgot to post this....after my totally heinous weekend, I looked at my blog comments and my friend Jen sent me this.... hysterical! Thanks, Jen!

Bathtub Gangsta

Sorry I'm late.....

So now that the kids are in school, I *was* going to blog everyday....but I had a really crappy weekend....actually, my crappy weekend started on Thursday while I was printing shipping labels on Paypal. I noticed a charge to some online gaming company that was not mine. Hmmmmm......turns out some bozo got a hold of my Paypal debit card number and was buying games. Great. Of course, Paypal is doing some sort of updates on their site and nothing worked, so I spent most of the day on the phone with them trying to clear this up. (NO, I didn't lose my card, it's right here. NO, I don't know how they got the number...blahblahblah)

Paypal suggests I call the onling gaming place as the order is marked as pending....maybe they can stop it. So I do. Those people were SO unhelpful, I couldn't believe it. After I tell them the situation, they try to tell me more than once it is probably one of my kids, that happens all the time. They are 5 and 6, I tell him, it's not them. SO then this guy goes on to tell me that not only can he *not* stop the transaction, but he actually has the name and address of the bozo that stole my number, but isn't allowed to give it to me for security reasons! WHAAAAAT? So, this dork can steal my debit card number, and HIS privacy is secure?? I have a few choice words for him, but decide to let Paypal take care of it.

On Friday I get a message from the doctor's office telling me to call them back to discuss my 6 year old's blood work. He had Lyme's Disease this past summer (AGAIN) and I figured it wasn't completely gone and needed more meds. Well, noooooooo......I call and the doctor left already for the weekend (12:30 pm) and so I talked to the nurse, who tells me he has hypothyroidism. Huh? They want to call in meds and follow up with more blood work in 3 weeks and have him eventually go to an endocrinologist. Huh? So I'm in shock and hang up. I then realize they never gave me the results of the Lyme's test, and I now have a million questions, so I call back literally 5 minutes later. I get the answering machine and THEY ARE CLOSED. So, they basically dropped this in my lap to fester all weekend long. Thanks.

So, on Saturday it's monsooning. I'm printing more labels when, you guessed it, there are MORE charges on my debit card to the same gaming place and Napster! How can this BE....I canceled the card! Back on the phone with Paypal....they were all done right before the card was canceled. Swell. Whoever this bozo is should watch their back. I will find you. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

So, there's more, but I will bore you no longer. On the up side, I did finish the attic room over the weekend. Props to Empire Carpet, they really *do* install the next day! They were here Friday night, and I had carpet by Saturday! Want to see?

Brand New ~~ Zodiac Star Sign Jewelry!

Awhile back I bought these cool Zodiac Star Sign stamps, but never really did anything with them. Now that the kids are in school, I have time to create new pieces again! So, I pulled out the Zodiac stamps to see what I could come up with, and here they are!

I absolutely LOVE what is going on with these earrings!! From the mixed metal to the texture on the ear wires, these are my new favorites! I am aiming to create a matching pendant in the near future, so be on the look out for that, too! And yes, I can do any star sign you desire!

Aaaahhh...the things you can find at the Cracker Barrell....

I'm not sure it any of you are aware of this, but the Cracker Barrel restaurant has THE BEST gift shop in the US of A....quite possibly the world. You can find all kinds of things in there. I've purchased Hello Kitty clothing for my daughter, birthday gifts for my mother, old time candy you never see anymore, decorations for all occasions, and my newest purchase, a bendable Mr. Bill doll! For those of you that remember Mr. Bill, you know he is notorious for getting into all kinds of scrapes, usually at the hand of, well, Mr. Hand. So, of course I had to buy him and have a little fun!

On no....there's been an accident:

Has anyone seen Mr. Bill?

Mr.Bill playing with his friend, Mr. Snake:

Yeah, I'm losing it.

I am home alone for the first time in 7 years......

.....and it is freaking me out a little.

Why is that, I wonder? How long have I been saying, "As soon as the kids are in school, my business will be SO much easier for me. I can work all day!" So, why am I sitting here, all aimless and unfocused? Could it have to do with the fact my tiny little kindergartener just left on that big bus? Before I have a breakdown, let's talk about something else!

We own a 1973 MG Midget. It's the coolest thing. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to drive it all summer as it's been at the MG doctor. Here's what it looks like at the moment:

OOOOOOO AAAAAAAAAAH. Look at that shiny new engine. They sent us that photo yesterday with a note that said as soon as we get the bill and pay it they will put the engine back IN the car. I thought that was funny......like a ransom note.

Here's it is the day we got it:

Yeah, it's the coolest.
